Press Association. TIIIAK.TJ, Oct. 30. The fortv-socond show of the Titnaru A. and P. Association was opened to-day in beautiful weather with n show of sheep and harness horses. English and .Border homesters together totalled lit) out ot 2/1 entries in the principal sheep sections, and were declared to bo as lino a lot as wore ever got together an New Zealand. All belonged to South Canterbury men. E. Tv el land won in both ram and ewo championships in English Leicester. . Grant secured the rani championship and G. Douthwaito tiio owe championship in Border Leicesters, both with imported sheep. In xnbred and half-brcds J. &tnngefellow’s 19-yenr iloclc beat- C. H.-Or-bell’s 30 vears. In all classes there was good competition in. fats. In horses judging was confined to the. harness classes, tiio prize-winners being all local men. W. I'. Hamilton. of Ashwick Station, wns tiio lareost- prize-taker for four-in-hand, carriage and bu<r<-w pairs, tandem, and dogcart. In buggy classes oil the whole the horses were a iirstclass lot.
