At tho Riflo Association meeting in tho Nowmarch match Speck filled second place and won £5; Perrin sixth with £2. Ayson won £1 in the Alacques mntch; Purnell, seventh, won £2; Craw, Alasefield, and Speck £1 each. 111 tho Sydney match Ayson was seventh -and won £2; Craw Cameron, Judd, Aluggridge and Alills £1 each.

BOWLING

At the Gisborne Club's green yesterday afternoon the following games were played:—Neill, Hallani, Douglas, Hookey (28); Baltridge, AVilson, Pe-ttio, Am bridge (If); Crawford, Witty, Brady. T. A. Crawford (24); Al'ackrell, Dodd, Honnessy, Cunningham (8); Ford.vce, H. Lewis, E. Lewis (22); Skillicorn, Nasmith, Pavitt (LG).

THE TURF

A notification aiipears elsewhere that bookmakers and their agents, or those known or suspected of laving totalisator odds, will not be allowed on the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s course.

TO-DAY’S AIEETING

The spring meeting of the Poverty Bay Turf Club commences to-day, anil from appearances tho weather should be fairly fine, consequently a large gathering is expected on jdie club’s grounds at Alakaraka. Tho club lias installed the starting machine, which will bo used for tlio first time in Gisborne. Many improvements have been made to the grounds, which are in splendid order. Tho acceptances aro larger than last and good fields may be expected.

CUP BETTING.
