A. AND P. SHOW.
TO-DAY’S PROSPECTS. At eleven o’clock last night tlio sky continued overcast, and as Mr. Porter and his assistants closed tho town office for tho night they were anything but optimistic as to the outlook. However, rain did not 101 l last night, and all that was left to those enthusiasts who liavo worked for the success of tho Show was to hope for the best from tho clerk of the weather. . Generally speaking, it may be saul tliat the arrangements of tlio committee are well-in hand, but the same can scarcely be said of the exhibitors, very few of whom reached tho grounds last night. To these must again bo given the reminder that if their stock is not on the ground by 9.30 this morning it will not be judged. Past experience has shown the necessity of this rule, and the secretary states that it will bo rigidly enforced. ~ All day yesterday there was considerable activity amongst .tlio proprietors of side shows, and it is evident the public will have no lack of amusement sandwiched in between the educational features of tlio Show. Mr. Hutcheson, tho representative of tho AVolseley sheep-sliearing machine, is in town, and will give demonstrations on both days of that machine. To-day the light horses and sheep are to be judged. Tho full details of tlio order of events are published in our advertising columns. . . There aro a largo number of visitors in town, and the hotels are taxed beyond their capacity to provide the necessary accommodation.
