THE SCHOOL HINNER-HOCII
[To Tins Emrou.]
Kir, —1 was very glad to notice Unit von are taking up the cause 01 the little ones who attend the public ■schools in the matter of homo lessons and the use of the cane, but there was another matter which 1 think needs attending to. I reler to the dinner-hour, which 1 consider is too short. 1 suppose the majority of the children attending the iinain school live near enough to go home lor lunch at midday it they were allowed an hour and a half instead of the hour as a.t present, liven that hour is cut short, as the childwen ohten are delayed several minute:; after .12, and are supposed to he back at five minutes to 1. This means that my little boy has to take a' cold lunch with him instead of coming home and having a nice hot dinner. What I want to know is why can’t the children have an hour and a half off at midday and stay on half an hour later in the afternoon 'i iDua’ing the summer mouths, at any rate, this seems to me a good arrangement. Thanking you in anticipation, 1 am, etc., ■‘THE BOV’S -MOTHER.'’ n’s and American)
