MAIL FACILITIES.

Press Association. WELLINGTON- Oct. 18. The Postmaster-General lias been advised that tho London Post Ofiico proposed to take advantage of the steamships of tho Australian mail line running between San Francisco and Auckland, for tho transmission of correspondence from tho United Kingdom for New Zealand. It was proposed to despatch mails on the 14tli September and every fourth Saturday thereafter. Mails will contain correspondence which reaches London after the despatch of the mail for New Zealand by the Suez route on the previous evening, in addition to correspondence specially superscribed by tho senders for transmission By way of San Francisco. The mails will bo due at Auckland about thirty-eight days after despatch from Loudon.
