LONDON, Oct, 17. Tlio evidence at the inquiry into the .Shrewsbury accident shows that it was possibly due to a failure of brake power.
Mr. Richard Bell, M.P., speaking at Harrow Road, said the railway directors wrote a letter warning one driver that ho must make up time like others or he would be dismissed.
King Edward has telegraphed his deepest sympathy with the sufferers by tlie terrible accident at Shrewsbury.
