Drunkenness. — William Frederick Denton, charged with drunkenness, was convicted and fined 10s, costs 2s, in default 48 hours imprisonment-. John Stevens, charged with a similar olfenco, was convicted and fined £l, costs 2s, in default 4 days imprisonment-. Obsceno Language. —William Denton was further charged with having used obsceno language, and was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment, tlie sentence to bo cumulative. . Broach of Probation License.— William McGregor Dick was charged with failing to comply with the terms of his probation license. Accused stated that ho had reported himso t to Constablo Te Rata at,Tuparoa. His Worship advised lmn to be more careful in following tlio terms ot hij license or lie would bo compelled to send him to gaol. Accused would bo allowed to complete bis form or probation. . Affiliation case.—Joseph Gilford failed to appear on a charge of tailing to make provision foa the maintenance of an unborn child. Mr. Stock, for tho plaintiff, stated that defendant had written that ho was prepared to enter into a bond, but this was insufficient, and he would have to ask that a warrant be issued for the attendance of defendant, who was in tho country.—The Magistrate issued a warrant accordingly.
