Somo interesting addresses _ wero delivered to a meeting of men in tho Baptist Tabornaclo last night upon tho attitude of tho Church towards present-day labor problems. Tho Rev. North, of "Wellington, referred to the high price of land in Wellington, and little hack yards, no bigger than a blanket, which the workers had to bo content with. He was as certain as ho lived Wellington was one of tho scandals of tho Universe, Tho working men’s children woro forced to play in the streets, which wero hot-beds of corruption. His own children woro also obliged to play thero, • becauso ho couldn’t afford a bigger rent. There was a Kelly Gang in tlio form of land syndicates and land grabbers going round Wellington. The sooner they did away with them tho better. His definition of rights of man was that every man should get a fair whack.
