Pres: Association. DUNEDIN, Oct. 11
( Bread, the 41b loaf, will be raised to 7id to-night in consequence of the increase of flour. The commercial editor of the Otago Daily Times says the rapid advance in the wheat market in Loudon and .Australia, accelerated by reports of crop failures in India and fear of drought in Australia, lias had its effect upon wheat markets in New Zealand sales made both in Tinvaru and Oamaru to-day at 5s on trucks, or at the ra-te of £1 .per hag, being an advance of 3d per bushel since .the beginning of the week. .In consequence of this the New Zealand V Millers’ Association decided yester(day afternoon to raise the price of jftour by £1 per ton. The local quo)bation is now £l2 5s per ton. In all 5 ’ probability this will carry with it a '.further advance of Jd oh the price i>f bread, making it 7id for the 41b loaf. ■ It is understood the Master •'Bakers’ Association will meet- to* .morrow to discuss the situation.
