A DESPONDENT COAL MINER.
COMMITS SUICIDE BY JUMPING OVER CLIFF. Press Association. WESTPORT, Oct. 7. John Nicholas Berryman, miner, 32 years of age, single, committed suicide at Denniston at 1 p.m. to-day by throwing himself over the cliffs, presumably because of the vigorous development of the Wostport-Stock-ton coal-mine, and ill anticipation of coal being discovered on Pakilii, at the back of Westport.
