AN EIGHTEEN-MILE RACE. Press Association. MARTON, Oct, 2. A walking race from M'anton to Bulls and back, a distance of 18 miles, took placo to-day. There were nine competitors. A great finish resulted between T. C. Wilson (Uitik-u) and AV. Brock (Miarton), the former winning by inches, Hansen (Bulls) third, and AVakeman (Tailpipe) I fourth, being 20 minutes behind. Tlio I time occupied was 3 hours 16 min- I utes, or an average of 10 minutes 53 I seconds a mile. The competitors had I to face a strong gale on the home- I wal'd journey.
