Reports from Spanish sources at Mogador and Mazagon state that the two Sultans are merely acting in collusion with a view to deceiving Europe and pacifying the tribes. Emissaries traversed Mazagon bearing the respective Sultan’s letters. Abdul Aziz agreed to. Mulai Hafid becoming Sultan of Morocco in the event of Abdul Aziz predeceasing him.
