OPERATIC CONCERT.
Great efforts aro being made by those concerned to make tho concert to bo hold in His Majesty’s on Wednesday and Thursday a complete success. A dress rehearsal of the whole programme was. held last night, and ©very iteip passed off well. The chief featuro of the programme will be the dancing of the Cachuca and the Gavotte from Sullivan’s well-known and popular opera “The Gondoliers,” which was produced hero last year. Tho dancers have been carefully trained, and the effect will be enhanced by beautiful costumes and specially arranged limelight effects. Contributions avill be made to the programme, which will include tavo quartettes, by Misses Law and Elliott, Mesdames Buckeridgo, Gardiner, and Kennedy, and Messrs Adair, Griffiths, Kimpton, Kissling, and Teat, and Dr. Buckeridgo. Thero will bo a full orchestra under the baton of Mr. M. L. Foster, which will render a selection. -The operatic excerpts will be accompanied by the orchestra, which will also accompany Mrs. Buckeridgo in her singing of “Alas Those Chimes” (Maritana).
