The return interprovincial match, Auckland v. Taranaki, was played here this afternoon in fine weather and in the presence of about oO(JU people. The game was fast and exciting. Auckland won by 12 points to 8 points. For the local team A\ llson, Aslier, Hogan and Seeling scored. While T. Sheehan and Hunter scored for Taranaki and Colman converted.

OTAGO BEATS WELLINGTON. Press Association. DUNEDIN, Sept. 21 The interprovincial football match, Otago v. Wellington, was played on tho Caledonian Ground to-day m the presence of about 8000 spectators The weather was fine but cold, and the ground was in splendid order. Tho game, which was fast and evenly contested, resulted in a win for the home team by 9 points (three tries) to 6 points (two tries) For the winners tries were obtained by McPherson (2) and Patton, while Evenson scored both tries for Wellington. The forwards on both sides played well, and gave some fine exhibitions of clever footwork. The backs also played well, except that the passing was erratic at times.

INTERPROVINCIAL “SOCCER.” Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 21, The third interprovincial association match between Otago and Canferburv was played at Lancaster 1 ark to-day in fine weather. There was a fair attendance of spectators. _ The teams had played two matches in former years and honors were even, but to~day Otago were much the lighter leam and were in no department so ofever as Canterbury, who won rather easily by seven goals to one.

COURSING. A meeting of tho P.B. Plumpton Coursing Club is called for Tuesday evening, at tho Royal Hotel, at o o’clock.
