YOUNG MAN ELECTROCUTED. Press Association. DUNEDIN, Sept. 14. s An inquest was held to-day ' concerning thodchih of, Gobrgc Slirimpton, who was killed at the Waipori electrical works. The evidence .vas practically to tho effect that deceased lad, while he was stniposed to he otherwise occupied, started with another employee named Clothier to carry pipes into the switch room, which was regarded as the most .binSerous apartment in tho building—as a medical witness put' it, a death trap. Deceased had not been instructed to go into the place at ail. On the contrary lie had been warned against doing so, hut being a most diligent man who could not remain idle, had abandoned the work allot, ted to him as he considered it inadvisable to do so, and had started w'th his companion to carry pipes to tlie switch-hoard room. He placed a pipe carried by himself on tho floor of tl.e room, and on turning to Clothier to assist him to lower his pipe his head came in contact with one of the switches, the contact killing him instantly. The jury after a brief deliberation returned a verdict ihat deceased was accidentally killed by coming in contact with a live wire, that no blame was attachable'to anyone, and they recommended that the doors of the main building in future be kept locked, tlie keys to be kept' in the possession of some one of authority.
