The Warrijiioo, which left Lyttelton on Saturday nigbt for Newcastle, and to search for the Monowai en route, went ashore at Cape Farewell this evening. She is in smooth water, and in a somewhat sheltered position, though a hard southerly is blowing. No further details are to hand. The Mararoa is proceeding to the scene as soon as possible to endeavor to tow the Warrimoo off. MISHAP CAUSED BY FOG. ALL ON BOARD SAFE. Press Association. NELSON, Sept. 15. Nows has been received that the Union steamer Warrimoo ran. ashore .on Cape Farewell close to the lighthouse about six o’clot'k this evening, the weather then being foggy, with rain. Under' the regulations the .light-keepers are not permitted to give information, so no particulars can be got. The steamer Rotoit-i is being despatched to the scene. It is understood that all on board are safe.
