Special to Times. WELLINGTON, September 11. The Factories Act Amendment Bill was reported to tho House this afternoon bv tho Labor Bills Committee. In tho Bill as brought down by tho Government tho definition of rectory” was extended to include buildings or places in which electrical energy is generated or transformed as an illuminant or motive power. This has now been modified by the addition of the words “for trade or sal.-.” A new sub-clause has been added, making the occupiers of factories responsible for posting in theur factories, in addition to other information, a copy of the procedure re-, quired to be "observed in order to claim compensation under the Workers’ Compensation for Accidents Act. 1900. The Committee has

struck out the sub-clause, which provided that where the birthday of the reigning Sovereign fell on a working day other than Monday, the holiday on account of that day should bo observed on the following Monday. Tho Committee lias retained the clause which provides for exempting fruitcanning and jam factories during the first three months of the year from the demands of the principal Act in regard to overtime.
