NAPIER, September 12. Tho New Zealand Golf Club’s championship meeting was continued today. SLiglut rain fell late in the afternoon, when tho day’s play was nearly over. The amateur championship of Hawke’s Bay was won by Arthur Duncan, with a score of 153 for tlie two rounds. His score today was 70, a record for the links, beating by 2 points the previous best record of 78 made by S. H. GoMan md Kurepo Tareha four years ago. Duncan’s driving, approaching, and putting were all splendid, and his performance to-day was undoubtedly tho finest all-iround exhibition ever seen on the links, either by an amateur or a professional. J. Game Bidwill (106), Kurepo Tareha (109), G. Thorburn (171). H. B. Lusk (171), Kapi Tareha (174), and D. R. Murray (171) wore the next best scorers in this event. In the open championship of N.Z. for professionals, Maclaren, of Dunedin, won by 1 point from David Hood, the scores being 107 and 108 respectively. F. G.. Hood (169), J. M. Herd (109), J. A. Clements (1712), D. Johnstone (174)„ D. Pryde (183), and A. J. Milliner (193) were the other scorers in this; match. The winners of tlie third round for the amateur championship of N.Z. are:—H. D. Bamforu, J. O. Kettle, T. Lynch, Major Gordon. G» A. Dargaville, H. B. Lusk, W. Handyside, C. Armstrong, A. H. Fisher, K. D. Duncan, 11. E. Wright. A.. Duncan, Reid, J. F. Ritchie, C. A. Turnbull, H.
