A NEW TUG.

Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH.. September 10. The Lyttelton Harbor Board’s new powerful" steam tug, Canterbury, arrived at Lyttelton this morning after a remarkably good passage of 69) days from Glasgow. The Canterbury, which was built by Messrs. Ferguson j)ros.. of Port Glasgow, is a steel twin-screw vessel of 300 tons gross register. She is 115 ft in length, 25ft in°beam. and 14ft 3ins moulded depth and is fitted with two sets of compound engines with cylinders 20in and 4()in in diameter respectively, with a pi iton-stroke of 27in. Steam is supplied from a large boiler 17ft in diameter. The Lyttelton Harbor Board is to take delivery of the now tug at the wharf, her cost delivered-there being £13,980.
