PROPERTY VALUES IN CHRISTCHURCH.
AN IMPORTANT AUCTION. BIDDING PAILS TO REACH OWNERS’ LIMITS. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, September 'Considerable interest was exhibited this afternoon in t.he auction sale of town property belonging to the Kiaiapoi Woollen Company. The company, having decided to erect new premises on their recently acquired .Mancheeter-street property, offered for sale the premises, they are how ocoupying. The first lot put up comprised the large stone and brick building, containing the main offices, showroom, etc., on the property, which has a frontago to Oashel-st-reet and Bedford Row. Bidding opened at £15,000, and advanced to £17,400, when the lot was withdrawn. Tihe second lot, comprising the clothing factory, with frontages on Bedford Row and’ Cashel and Madras streets, opened at £BOOO, and was passed in nt £10,900. The third lot, comprising the shirt factory, with frontages on Lichfield-street and Bedford Row, rose from £SOOO to £5400, and was passed. Weeks’ buildings in Manreet were also offered, but were withdrawn at £5900.
