A Press Association message from Christchurch states that the condition of Mr. T. J. Joynt, K.C., has becomo very serious, anjd is causing anxiety. Mr. Joynt received his appointment as K.C. in June, and he is the senior King’s Counsel for N.Z. A popular wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church yesterday. Miss M. M. Perry, only daughter of Mr. J. L. Perry, of Waimata, was united in matrimony with Mr. F. G. Carthew, of New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Carthew left in the evening by the Miowera, and will reside in New Plymouth. Constable James Scott, of Newton. Auckland, lias been appointed to succeed Constable Haneox, who leaves for Westland on Sunday evening. Mr. G. G. Chisholm, who lias filled tho position of deputy-clerk in the S.M. Court at Gisborne for the iiast two and a half years, will proceed shortly to Port Chalmers on transfer. Tho change means promotion, as in his new sphere Air. Chisholm will occupy the position of Clerk of Court Clerk of Licensing Committees, and probably Registrar of Electors. He will leave for the South after tho Supreme Court Sessions. Air. J. D.nyson, who has been assistant clerk during the absence of Mr. Johnstone, lias been appointed Air. Chisholm's successor.
