HOCKEY
The following representative team lias been selected to play against Hawke’s Bay. The team will leave on Sunday evening and return the following Tuesday:—Pettie, McLaughlin, Roderick, -M. Doyle, Rico, Grant, Pirie, Olsen, Martin, Bright, Friar. A practice match is to be lilayed this afternoon oil Viet'oria Domain at 2 o’clock between the rep.rejentatives and a team chosen from tlie following:—AVi, Garrett, Dawson, Pollock, Armstrong, Davy, Hooper. E. Roderick, Hansen, Dines, Cramp, Bavly, Coleman, Burke, Somervell. The Auckland hockey ladies arrived last evening, in excellent spirits. They are reputed to be a fast, clever team, and a most interesting contest is bound to eventuate on the A r ictoria Domain, at 3 o’clock, this afternoon. The Gisborne team will lie identical with that which played against the Clive visitors. Local enthusiasts are confident that the Gisborne ladies will give a very good account of themselves, and the match should he well worth witnessing. j
