On the arrival of the Mokoia from South on Sunday Captain Smith reported that tlie light-keeper at Cuvier Island signalled for the Hinemoa to he sent doxvm at once. The Hinemoa ran down to the island this morning. The light-keeper reported that a big land-slide took place on Saturday night, damaging the chief keeper’s house. Some 300 tons of earth, fell. Lt is feared that other landslides xvill take place. Captain Bollons, of tlie Hinemoa, and Mr. Scott, of tlie Marine Department,will probably recommend the houses. being shifted to a safer position.
