Mr. D. Hepburn, who has been on a visit to Sydney, arrived back in Gisborne on Sunday evening. Constable Hancox, who is under transfer to Okarito, Westland, leaves for the South on Sunday next. Mr. H. S. Cole has been appointed postmaster at Pouawa. The newly-appointed officer in charge of tho local Telegraph Department, Mr. R. F: Houlihan, should take up his duties ill the course of a few days. Mr. H." M. Clark, who is relinquishing the managership of the Kin 'Grp factory after seven years’ service, vac yesterday made tho recipient of a presentation from the suppliers. The gift was a silver-.-teapot inscribed as a token of apprpeiation of his “fairness and good services rendered,” and was handed to the manager by Mr. Brooking, who conveyed tho donors’ good wishes. Mr. Clark suitably acknowledged tho compliment.
