STRONG REMARKS BY S.M. Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 26. At the Rotorua train accident inquiry, Driver J. L. Taylor, gave evidence ill regard to the action of Lowe, his examination occupying all tho afternoon. To. Mr. Baume ho said that a native once greased the rails near Ngatira and was fined. Mr. Kettle: Fined—was that all? It should be an indictable offence, punishable by imprisonment to interfere with the track. It might have occasioned a very serious accident. Tho inquiry was adjourned till to-morrow.
