NEW CABLE ARRANGEMENT.

WELLINGTON, August 21. The Superintendent of the Pacific Cable Station, at Doubtless Bay telegraphs to the Secretary of tlie General Post Office, Wellington:—“2lst August, 1907.—Administration arrangements have now been made for a bi-weekly service for American cablegrams, to bo posted from Barnfield to Seattle, and telegraphed to tlieir destination from the latter point. Messages by this means can only be accepted at senders’ risk, subject to indefinite delay between Seattle and their destination. Ordinary rates to the station of destination
must be observed, and the usual registered addresses will be available. American cables for transmission by this means can bo accepted at Bamfield up to 9.30 a.m. (N.Z. time) tomorrow (Thursday). The time of the mail transit- from Bamfield to Seattle is three days. Further advice of subsequent mailing dates from Bamfield will be sent.”
