At Victoria Domain to-day the Carriers play a combined team of f Thursday plavers. The Thursday Union are desirous of pitting their - strength against the Junior representative team, and as they can muster.a fairly strong fifteen the.v should give the Juniors a good game. The Carriers’ team for this afternoon will be: —T. Grev, Craig Pollock, Burnett; i' Smith, Roderick, Rice, Hird, Hutchison, Harrison, Corbett, Sceats, Bnrnand, Marflctt, Cahill. The combined team will be picked from the following:—McLachlan, Wilkinson, Austin, Isaac, Pirie, Tanner, Ansell, Penman, Richards, Horgan, Dick, Hooper, Gideon, Roderick, Witty, Smith, Campbell, and Jones. Tlie mateh commences at 2.30 sharp. At the usual meeting of the Poverty Bay Referees’ Association, held last evening at the Royal Hotel, the following referees were appointed in the matches for next Saturday: Senior trial match, A team v. combined, team, Mr. W. Howard; Junior -» trial match, A team v. B team, Mr. * - R. G. Hallamore; third match, Mr. J. Somervell. *
