SUPREME COURT.
Press Association. DUNEDIN, August 20. Tlio criminal sittings were continued to-day. A verdict of not guilty was returned in tlio case of James Russell, charged with assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm. Tlio allegation was that he threw a bottle at another man and inflicted serious injuries to the head. The prisoner was discharged. Other charges against an old mail, Janies Wright Campbell, of breaking and entering and of thefts, were proceeded with, and accused was sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment. WELLINGTON, August 20. At tlio Supreme Court to-day Phillip Brewster and Charles Dunn were charged with having kept certain premises in Eller’s Avenue, off Willisstreet, Wellington, as a common gaming house. Accused were convicted and remanded till to-morrow for sentence.
