Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 19. * A lady cyclist collided with a motorcar in Lambton Quay this afternoon. ' In ondeavoring to avoid the cyclist the car swerved on the footpath smashing a plate glass window ot Kirkcaldie and Stains’ shop. the cyclist was mucli cut about and removed to the hospital in an unconscious state. Her namo is Lona A Thompson, aged about 20. At a Into hour to-night sho was still unconscious. ELTHAM, August 19. A daughter, aged 2i years, °‘ George Marin, a settler on tbo ManKawhero road by Eltbnrn, died sudI Uenly on Saturday. An inquest was i icld to-day. Evidence was given lhat the child ate some German saus--1 Ige that had been lying in a drawer I lor nearly a fortnight. Shortly atter- ■ Wards she became sick and vomited. J Tho parents started for town but the ; child died on tho way. The doctor who held the post-mortem said no wi.l'.cd samples of tho vomit and the ; sausage could be sent to tho Governmerit Analyst. Tho inquest was adi journed.
