ATTEMPTED GOLD ROBBERY

Press Association. TIIAAIES. August 19. An attempt was made to rob the bullion sale of the Alay Queen Battery. The doors of the battery and sate-room were opened, and an attempt made to dynamite the safe. A charge of gelatine was placed in a hole with the object of dislodging the sato lock. The charge was too heavy, the result being that the safe jammed the bullion m the safe, secure from the robbers. The police are investigating.
