A similar charge against Frederick Weiss was preferred, a remand being granted till judgment is given m respect of the charge against his mother, counsel stating that the line o* •defence would be governed by tho decision in that case. Myers, has sent tho following cable to Webb: — “Citizens of Auckland proud of New Zealander’s victory, and send you heartiest congratulations.” .The Mayor has a message congratulating the New Zealand footballers on their splendid victory.
