WELLINGTON, last night. A return which was ordered on the mc-tion of Mr. Lawry and which has bean presented to the House, shows that the first estimate of the cost of the North Island Main Trunk Railway (as set forth in the Public Works Statement of 1887) was £2, 085,000. The expenditure up till March 31st last was £2,139,351. The estimated cost of completing the line is £500,000
