A BILLIARD EXPERT.

VISIT OF Mil. T. C. BRAGGE.

A notable event for those interested in tlio -popular game of billiards is the visit of Mr. T. C. Bragge, the expert who represented Messrs Alaock and CJo. at the Christchurch International Exhibition. During the cut rency of the big Southern gathering Mr. Bragge gave exhibitions of scientific billiard playing, which came as a revelation to the crowds who witnessed his performances. At the conclusion of the i Exhibition, Mr. Bragge, besides obtaining a special award and gold medal, received the following letter from the General Manager:— ' «*,- N.Z. International Exhibition, 1906-1907. Christchurch, 18th April, 1907. Mr T. C. Bragge, ' Billiard Expert, Exhibition Buildings, Christchurch. Dear Sir, — This serves to place upon record the very satisfactory and capable manner in which you have conducted exhibitions of billiard playing at the New Zealand International Exhibition. The two hundred and five (205) displays which you have given havo been of a very interesting and skilful character, and have been very largely patronised bv the-public. In conclusion I have no hesitation in expressing my opinion as to the satisfactory and gentlemanly u r ay in which you have conducted your .displays-

During his brief stay in Gisborne Mr. Bragge will "ivo several exhibitions at the Victoria Billiard Saloon, the first being fixed for this afternoon. Sonic idea of the nature of this expert’s programme can be gathered from mention ‘of the following items : —lllustrations of. break playing, combination kiss cannons; cannon into hat; cannon through hat , over rest, return underneath an 1 cannon; steeplechase cannons and losing hazards; angle strokes; cushion cannons; striking every cushion and holing red; eight shot, square four ball cannon; through balls, making four ball cannon on return; pot red in basket and cannon; pot red in basket and cannon over basket. Cyrstalate balls are used in all these displays.
