AN ECHO OF THE LAND BILL

WELLINGTON, July 29. At a deputation to the Premier today one of tho speakers advocated the extension of tho railway from Culvorden, remarking that _ there would probably bo moro estates m that district cut up shortly, as a number of tho settlors up there understood that they were not wanted in the colony. “I believe,”, he said, “that a number of them are learning Spanish.” No doubt the reference was to a bursting up of some of the larger estates and a possible immigration.of the capitalist to tho Argentine.
