FIRES.
Press Association. TIAIARU, yesterday. A. S. Palmer’s wool works at Pareora. together with all the contents, were completely destroyed by fire yesterday. The insurances total £1695 but Palmer’s loss will bo considerable. GORE, yesterday. The Prince of Wales private hotel, Topanui, formerly licensed, was destroyed at daylight this morning. The building was insured for £IOO in the Alliance and £IOO in the Royal. Tils contents of Whitfield, the lessee, were insured for £IOO in the New Zealand. Thompson, dentist, was insured for £SO. The National Bank and Quale, baker’s, premises were scorched. It was a calm morning, otherwise the fire would have been disastrous.
