The building was insured for £IOO in the Alliance and £IOO in the Royal. Tils contents of Whitfield, the lessee, were insured for £IOO in the New Zealand. Thompson, dentist, was insured for £SO. The National Bank and Quale, baker’s, premises were scorched. It was a calm morning, otherwise the fire would have been disastrous.
