CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.

Press Association. G KEY MOUTH, Inst night. At tho District Court to-day, before Judge Haselden and a jury of four, tho flouring was commenced of a claim for £SOO damages by Walter Scott and Catherine Scott for damages against Hugh Cassidy, coach proprietor, lor tho death of an infant' child caused by a coach accident in the Otirn-Chnstehurch road. The case tor plaintiffs lasted all day. The evidence was in tho direction ol stating, that the coach was not strong enough, several portions of the broken coach being produced in Court. It was stated that it was “dozed” or had dry-rot. Davis, a formor driver for Cassidy and Co. for 10 years, attributed the accident to unskillful driving. The ease will he resumed at 10 o'clock to-morrow, and is likely to last the whole day.
