POULTRY CLUB FORMED.

A meeting of the enthusiasts, of poultry-farming was held in Mr. Morrell’s store last evening lor the purpose of forming a poultry club in this district. Mr. F. IC. A. Gordon was elected to thc^chair. It was moved by Mr. Brady and seconded by Mr. Morrell that a poultry club bo formed to be called the Poverty Bay Utility Club.—Carried. The following members were elected: —Messrs. O. J. Morrell, It. H. Brady, G. Brown, O. Craft, D. Bait, H. F. Hall, H. H. Faram, A. ’Nightingale, and F. IS. A. Gordon. air. A. Nightingale was ‘ elected president, Mr. H. H. Faram vice-pre-sident, and air. 0. J. Morrell lion, secretary and treasurer, pro tom. On the motion of Mr. Gordon, seconded by Mi;. Craft, it was decided to fix the subscription at 2s 6d, and that the objects of the club be to obtain all poultry supplies and .requisites at. first cost, also breeding stock and eggs; to organise the sale of the club’s produce, and to endeavour to obtain a modification of the present exhibition standard, and thus establish confidence between the exhibition and utility sections of poultry men. A working committee is to be formed of two members of the club with the president, vice-president, and secretary, with three to form a quorum.

It was resolved / o instruct the secretary to communicate with the secretary of the Utility Poultry Club in Christchurch and secure rules, objects and other data.

The Club bold their next meeting on July 29tli.
