SCHOOL BATH SOCIAL.

Those who have any qualms about tho birrth-rato would have been relieved to seo the multitude of chubby rosy-cheeked young Now Zealanders who crowded tho big wool shod to the very doors last evening. From all quarters the juveniles swarmed in shoals,-many under the watchful eye of pa and ina, who proudly brought up their “little lots” of anything up to ten; whilst the-friends and relatives of all the little fofk in the countryside were pressed into service as guardians. A real merry time the youngsters spent; and the hall was as full of bustle as an ant lieajj. The din was something to marvel at, but what did it signify so long as the young hopefuls disported themselves to their hearts’ content? All ages and sizes of youth were present and from the excellent display of dancing observed among the older chjldrcn if is evident the parents pay some attention to their social deportment. The music was supplied by the City Band, Miss Moore’s orchestra leading tho extras. The M.C.’s were identical with those of the previous evening, and till 10 p.m. dancing proceeded gaily. Mr. Withers and his little daughter led off the Grand March, which was quite imposing. The youngsters were beautifully regaled at supper by the ladies, and a good many of them remained to the close of the proceedings. Of course there were a large number of “grown-ups” participating all evening, and they bad the floor from 10 o’clock till after midnight. The a tie”- -ice was much larger than on the hrst night, and the proceeds of the complete function should be highly satisfactory to the Committee.
