Admiral Yamamoto, interviewed hero; thought t-lie passing storm between Japan and the United States would disappear in the waters of the Pacific. Much depended on the at--itude of the Press. He appealed to the newspapers to use their influence to maintain peace. The State Department at Washington states that no negotiations are proceeding between Japan and the United States.
