OVERCROWDED TRAMCARS.

The resolution with regard to over'rowding of tramears was put into force by most of the employees to-dav .md there were several instances iii which the employees, when people had got on ill excess of the ordinary nmnlier stopped the ears and refused to go on until some of the passengers got off. The matter reached an acute

These in the past have always been overcrowded, but to-niglit. the majority of conductors enforced th"t> resolution which was passed at the meeting on Tuesday and the cars passed by various stopping places without picking up further passengers, leaving bunches of from 3 to 15 behind in many places, and these together with large numbers of others had to walk home, many having to go a considerable distances, some to Onehunga. seven miles distant. Among those not picked up were a large number of ladies in opera«cloaks. -
