THE GAME UP THE COAST. Our Tokomaru Bay correspondent writes as follows: —Since my last letter two more Wai-apu Union fixtures have been played, one at Tuparoa between the Tokomaru and Tuparoa teams, and the other at l’akarae, between thy Paikea and Tolaga teams. Both games were played on Saturday June 29th, the former resulting in a win for Tokomaru by 6 points to 0; and the. latter in a win for Paikea by 8 points to 3. Tho Tokomaru club has now three wins to its credit, and no losses, ’Tolaga one win and two losses; Tuparoa has lost two matches, and Paikea has one loss and one win. The Tuperoa team must be a good one, as the local club sent almost its best team to try conclusions, and only just managed to win It is said that Tuparoa forwards are an especially strong lot, and that our boys were nowhere with them. The strength of the homo team is in their backs, Erikana faking the place of last season’s weakest man. The referee in the PaikeaTolaga match has reported to the Union two Paikea players for rough play and questioning decisions.
