Miss Millington’s report on tho examination ol - the Gisborne teachers’ cookery classes was adopted as satisfactory, and tho names of the teachers who signified their willingness to attend and did not will be noted by the board. The Education Department intimated that 1 'ns the present system of managing native schools was working satisfactorily, no change was contemplated at present.—Received. It was decided, on 'the motion of Air. Morgan, to support the Gisborne School Committee in protesting against, the Cook County Council taking a roail through the Poverty Bay school reserves.

Mr. Darton gave notice that at next meeting lie would move, “That the question of tlie salaries of teachers be considered next meeting.”
