VALUATION DEPARTMENT.
THE YEAR’S WORKING. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, last night. The expenditure of tho Government Valuation of Land Department for the past year was £30,197, of which £13,817 was paid in salaries. £7990 for clerical assistance, and £1124 for fees to valuers. Travelling expenses reached £4794. After deducting general fees and contributions from tho local authorities, etc., the net cost of the department was £7679.
