A presentation at Wellington bv West Coasters to Mr Guinness on Monday night included a serviceable wig, set of harness, and silver-mount-ed whip, and to Mrs Guinness a diamond, rubv, and sapphire brooch, and a handsome purse. The death is reported from London of Mr. J. A. Murdoch, assistant-sec-retarv of the Marylebone Club. A telegram from Dunedin states that Mr. Henry B. Smith, of Smith and Smith, is seriously ill. His condition is causing grave anxiety. A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that Captain James McNaught, of the Highland Rifles, Wanganui, has been appointed organiser for the National League of New Zealand. Mr McNaught, who came to Auckland at the request ol the General Council of the League, leaves again to-morrow for the South, and will commence organising work for the League at "Wanganui, Palmerston North, Feikling, and Marton. Mr. C. G. Bloore lias purchased the business hitherto conducted by Messrs. Kerr and Carter, estate and commission agents. Mr. J. A. Kerr, the principal of the late firm, has arranged to carry on business at Tauranga. He has made many friends iocally, who will wish him good health, prosperity, and the success which his business acumen and enterprise merits.
