A party of visitors to Katoomba. paid a visit yesterday to view the wonderfully beautiful sight of the falls and cascades in a frozen state. \ boy named Lanner, 13 years or age, crossed to a piece of ice about 20ft square, when he slipped and lu ll shrieking over the edge into the chasm 200 ft below. He was dashed to death. „ , A precisely similar fatality occurred at the same spot this morning. young woman named McAriney, in company with other sightseers, went out to view the falls, and it is surmised the girl went to see the spot where the lad fell, and began.to slip on the same bodv of ice. Every et-foi-i she made to regain lier footing was unavailing. Although the bystanders clutched at the "irl s clothes and made efforts to save her, she disappeared over the brink of the dee” perpendicular gully, and waß hurled to lier death. Both bodies were shocking l ” mutilated.-
