He was wearing a small peculiarly shaped hat, which had resulted in his face assuming a rod and weather-beaten appearance. A minister whom they' met thought ho would improve the shilling hour by presenting each of the visitors with n tract. He handed one (kept for general nurposes evidently) to the Archdeacon’s friend, and after gazing embarrassingly at the Archdeacon’s nose, delved inner recesses of his poeket for a few seconds, and presented one to the Archdeacon himself.
