ADRIFT IN AN OPEN BOAT.

OCCUPANT’S FATE UNCERTAIN. Press Association. DUNEDIN, last night. Mr. C. W. Harvey, a sharebroker, of Dunedin, left Akatore beach about 2 p.m. on Tuesday in a small open boat in order to go to Taieri Hoads. At 4.30 lie was seen about ten miles out, and appeared to have lost control of the boat which was then heading for Nuggets.. A small lug : was hoisted in the boat. The night was rough and it is feared that unless Mr. Harvey was ablo to make the shore the boat may have been swamped. Later on communication by telephone with Nuggets was obtained but the lighthouse-keeper had seen: nothing of Mr. Harvey or his boat.
