VAL VOUSDEN.
It is not generally known that Val Vpusden, the popular Irislu society mimic., who appears at His Majesty’s Theatre o n Friday and Saturday next, has a celebrity outside his professional reputation,' When the Spanish-Amerjcan war broke out, lie abandoned his profession in New Orleans, and joined the Second Louisiana U.S. Volunteers. He soon won national distinction by his unprecedented rise'from the ranks to the jiosition of supreme command of the regiment. He returned to New Orleans at its head, and received civil and military honors. Mr. Vousden also served throughout the Philippine campaign, and was taken prisoner at the battle of San Fernando, but after 10 days he succeeded in making his escape into the American lines. Immediately after war alarms ceased the popular Val resumed his professional career again. : . Seats may be booked at popular prices. The plan is now open at Miller’s.
