It is stated Federal Ministers have decided that there is no prospect of the~syndieate carrying out the contract, which will be cancelled... to-day or. to-morrow. After arranging for an interim service the Government will call for new tenders simultaneously in England and Australia. Sir John Forest lias conferred with the Orient Company and it is believed an interim service will be supplied.
