POULTRY SHOW.
Press Assofciation. TIMARU. Saturday. The South. Canterbury Poultry Society’s Show opened here on Friday,. and will conclude to-day. The entries total 532, a slight falling-off as compared with the last year. Silver Wyaudottes are the strongest feature of the show. F. C. Hack (Christchurch) and F. L. McGregor (Timaru) were the chief prizetakers of this class. In white Wyaudottes G. H. Blair took all the prizes, having no opposition. In black Minorcas L. G. Burns (Timaru) was the principal prize winner, with W. S. Amnios (Ashburton) runner-up. The black Orpingtons was not very good, being deficient in color. The game fowls shown were very poor. There was a good show of white Leghorns. J. Thompson (Timaru) was the chief prizetaker. The points prizes were won by the following: Brown Leghorns, J. Lillico, Waimate; Legborne, J. Thompson ; golden Wyandotte.s, F. C. Hacfk; black Langshans, F. Palmer; Minorcas, S. It. Burns; black Orpingtons, W. Brown ; 'There was a very good show of pigeons, J. Thompson annexing most of the prizes. The Graham cup was won by S. R. Burns.
